Contact Attributes
.lt contacts support one registry-specific attribute beyond the standard EPP fields:
| Attribute | Type | Required | Applies to | Allowed values |
|---|---|---|---|---|
DOMREG_LT_ORG_CODE |
String | ➖ Optional | Legal-entity contacts | Company code from the relevant business register |
Auth Codes
.lt transfer auth codes are generated by the registry and cannot be chosen or changed through a domain update.
Request one with POST /v1/domains/tld-specific/lt/{domain_reference}/auth_code/request; it stays valid for 7 days and is consumed by the transfer that uses it.
Generating the code is what opens the transfer window on the registry side. A transfer attempted after the code expired (or without one ever being generated) is rejected by the registry as "not allowed or expired".
Transfers
.lt transfers complete immediately: there is no pending phase and nothing for the losing registrar to approve. One of their rules deserve attention:
The holder never changes on a TRANSFER
The registrant contact supplied with the transfer MUST represent the current holder: the registry matches it by organization name (legal entities) or personal name (natural persons) and rejects the transfer when they differ. Only the name is matched; the company code is not part of the comparison. To move a domain to a different holder, the current holder must initiate a TRADE in DOMREG's registrant portal - this is not yet available through the API.
Deletion
Deleted .lt domains are placed in quarantine rather than released immediately, and can only be restored for the same registrant while quarantined.
